Block Prints on Indigo Crewneck (2XL #1)

A unique composition of hand-carved block prints, individually placed on a 2XL Gildan crewneck sweatshirt lovingly spiral dyed in a vat of natural indigo.

This particularly hand-made shirt was created over the course of a week with careful attention paid at every step. One day for tyeing and indigo dyeing. One to logo print the reverse. Then one day for each of the five colors on the front, followed by curing and washing out.

The stamps are all hand carved and all original K Brand creations, save the paisley which is an antique wooden block from our collection.

While created with 17 other pieces in the same time period, prints and colors were varied to ensure each shirt has a totally original arrangement and stands as its own piece of wearable art unlike any other.

The process of individually inking and hand pressing each stamp one at a time results in minor fades, imperfections, and overlays. This intentional embrace of unpredictability is part of the character of the piece. It has been washed twice since printing though to ensure that what you see is what you get, and represents the final way the stamps and dye have set.
