Large, sturdy tote made from a patchwork of assorted cotton remnants in shades of blue, grey, black, and white. Flat-bottom design that folds neatly but pops open to stand on a table when filled. Hand-embroidered in white and three shades of blue, for a quilted effect inspired by sashiko and kantha stitching that lends both beauty and strength, as well as a lightly padded feel.
Block printed peace sign from a hand-carved stamp. Embroidered evil eye for protection. Hand-sewn "K" tag. Bandanas, Japanese textiles, mushroom denim. A tactile experience.
Front patchwork hides a 4.5" x 5.5" discreet exterior pocket. Sewn-in cotton lining with 5" x 6" interior pocket. Denim top hem. Long straps were machine-sewn for comfortable shoulder wear from a sturdy outdoor upholstery fabric. Besides the straps and pocket linings, the piece is entirely sewn and assembled by hand.
Measures approximately 11" x 15" outside when the 4" bottom is folded flat.
Straps are 1.25" wide and 33" long.
