Large, sturdy tote made from a patchwork of assorted cotton, linen, and hemp remnants in shades of clay, coral, mustard, chocolate, sand, and saffron. Flat-bottom design that folds neatly but pops open to stand on a table when filled. Hand-embroidered in yellow, orange, brown, rose, red, and white, for a quilted effect inspired by sashiko and kantha stitching that lends both beauty and strength, as well as a lightly padded feel.
Desert sunset scenes and the perfect colors to transition from late summer into fall. Hand-sewn "K" tag on avocado-dyed cotton. Inverted smilies. Peace sign. Embroidered sun. A tactile experience.
Front patchwork hides a 4.5" x 7.5" discreet exterior pocket. Sewn-in floral cotton canvas lining with 5" x 5.5" interior pocket. Grey English linen top hem. Long straps were machine-sewn for comfortable shoulder wear from a herringbone twill upholstery fabric. Besides the straps and pocket linings, the piece is entirely sewn and assembled by hand.
Measures approximately 12" x 15" outside when the 5" bottom is folded flat.
Straps are 1.25" wide and 25" long.
