“Sunrise Over Mexiko Blazer” (M/38)

Robert Graham fully-lined blazer size Medium (fits 38ish) that was rescued and repaired, then modified with additional hand-embroidery, boro-inspired patchwork, and natural dyeing.
On front, the cuffs, lapels, and pockets received two-tone red and yellow sashiko thread accents and a sun emblem on the chest pocket. The rear features blue and white embroidery inspired by wind and surf, and an extra-large 1 of 1 patch made from hand-dyed cotton remnants. Blue water was achieved with a vat of natural indigo, while the rising sun's yellow and red were achieved with turmeric and avocado pits, respectively.
K Brand tag added to interior. All work was done with painstaking respect to the gorgeous floating liner the jacket came with, and all original movement and function has been preserved. Inspired by stopping to appreciate the sunrise and ready to bring a little light into the world. ☀️ 🌅☀️
